Woke up at 6:35 A.M. Took a friend over to Pittsburg, a little over an hour away. He needed a ride to a hospital for a drug screening. We were headin' back 10 minutes after arriving...I guess he had some prescription drug in his system and couldn't complete the test. I sure hope it wasn't a wasted trip! hmm...
Came back and crashed. I was so tired. Slept until noon.
Went up in the twin today. Flew up to Emporia but didn't land...just cruised around. And we had some moderate turbulence today! Very bumpy at 6500 feet! At one point, the seat belt was the only thing keeping me in the seat! It jolted Van and me up pretty hard!
We flew back...and hit 196 knots! That's what I'm talkin' about! Landed back at Chanute, let the new engine have a break, then went up about 40 minutes later. Practiced take-offs and landings...just stayed in the pattern. I think we did five altogether.
I love this airplane. It flies so smoothly! And it's a joy to fly. It's not all too difficult, either. Granted, we are only doing normal flight right now, but I'm already in love with her. I can't wait to spend over 100 hours in it!
Was supposed to buy a four-wheeler tonight, but the guy called just before I was leaving to tell me his dad had sold it. hmm. Pretty frustrating.
Ended up goin' out to the Knox's for the night. Ate with 'em, played some basketball in town with a John and David, and then went back and played some Crokinole with some others. Ended up stayin' talkin' until midnight.
But I had to get back. I fly to Chicago tomorrow in the twin! And I'll be spendin' the next couple of days in Springfield...I have a feeling these next two days are just goin' to fly by.
No pun intended.
Went to bed at 1:00 A.M.
