No flying today.
Woke up at 9:00 A.M.
Spent a couple hours with the preacher in town...just talked and then went out to eat for lunch.
Then headed out to the farm again! And we worked, worked, and worked some more! We dug the trench a foot deeper, threw the dirt into a pile, then loaded the dirt into a truck, then drove the truck into town, then unloaded the truck, then came back for more of the same! I can only imagine how many thousands of pounds of dirt were shoveled around today...that truck was sagging! And we had to make two full trips! Easily over a ton of dirt...
But the trenches are dug. We'll add some tile and rock and hopefully the land will drain so that no more ponds develop in the backyard!
And I was rewarded with another choice supper. They chose to grill out tonight, but that doesn't do it justice. The food was plentiful...and superb! No lie, for meat, I had my choice of chicken, barbecue chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, pork chops, fish, or polish sausage. So naturally, I tried five of 'em! Also had potatoes, strawberry salad, peas beans and corn, home-made bread, tea, lemonade, and afterwards coffee and pumpkin pie complete with whip cream.
If I didn't know better, I'd say they are fattenin' me up for slaughter! In all my 25 years, I have never seen such meals like this! We had 13 around the table tonight! It's quite enjoyable.
Went out there at 2:30 in the afternoon, stayed until 11:00 P.M. I had to scoot home to do some taxes before midnight!
Finished 'em at 11:53 P.M.
And to think...I could've stayed out there seven more minutes...
