A lil' glimpse into what I'm doin', thinkin', and dreamin'!
Day 32--March 25, 2008

Woke up incredibly refreshed at 8:25 A.M.  It's been awhile since I've slept like that!

Well, it's official...I begin Month 2 of training starting today.  That thought really doesn't make sense to me.  I was thinkin' about it earlier tonight, and lookin' back, I see that I've done quite a bit.  But at the same time, I feel like I've only been here a couple weeks.  Everything happens so fast, yet it's all so slow, too...I just don't get it.

Headed over to the FBO at 9:00 A.M.  I spent most of today preparin' for the Instrument Written Test.  The test consists of 60 questions taken from a question bank of over 900.  I've seen the 900+ questions at least once and studied for 'em, so all I have left to do is just be confident!  So to prepare for the actual FAA test, I took several prep tests.

Over the course of the day and evening, I ended up takin' six different randomly-generated tests.  The results?  87%, 80%, 92%, 82%, 87%, and 77% (with 7 questions left unanswered due to the diagrams not bein' available at the time).  So my average is an 84%.

The FAA requires a 70% to pass, so I should be good to go...I hope!

I'll actually be takin' three tests tomorrow...the Instrument, the Certified Flight Instructor Instrument, and the Instrument Ground Instructor.  These three tests all use the same question bank more or less, so if you're prepared for one, you're prepared for 'em all.  Might as well knock 'em all out in one sitting!  yikes!

I start the real testing at 9:30 tomorrow morning.  It's finally here!

We also scheduled my instrument checkride today.  I'll be headin' to Topeka for the big day on April 3...just over a week away.  Of course, this is the day that I've been waitin' for, but there is a certain change that happens when the day is actually set in stone.  It's a shift it attitude, I think.  It's "all-or-nothin', go get 'em, nothin' left behind" time...I've got to bring everything to the table next Thursday!

But today wasn't all books.  I went to Wal-Mart this afternoon to buy a basketball...after all, I had to take advantage of the 70-degree weather!  So I shot some hoops in the park for a bit...enough to work up a sweat!  Yay for spring.  I came back and took tonight relatively easy...outside of some studyin' and a practice exam.

Hit the sack at 11:30 P.M.

Tests, here I come.
