Woke up at 11:40 A.M.  Yeah, 11:40.  Beautiful!

Jarryd, Jyri, and I headed south towards Independence this afternoon to look at a motorcycle.  We drove the 40 minutes there, and I called the person about the motorcycle because their road wasn't showin' up on my GPS.

"Yeah, I'm at 10th and Main."

"10th and Main, huh?  Hmm...are you downtown then"?

"Um, yeah, sorta..."  Independence didn't really have a big downtown, but I had passed some downtown buildings...so it was close enough...

"Well, if you're downtown, you need to go east.  We're east of Kansas City...."

"Kansas City"?!

And with that, I quickly realized that Independence was indeed where we were at...but was not where we were at, too.  It turns out that I needed to go to Independence, Missouri, NOT Independence, Kansas...silly craigslist.  oops.

"Um, yeah, so we're in Independene, Kansas, not Independence, Missouri...um, I guess it turns out that I won't be lookin' at your motorcycle today..."

And with that, I heard a click.  The gal hung up on me!  oops!  Sorry!

But since we were down there, we decided to pay a visit to our instructor...after all, we had drove all this way!  So we stopped by Van's house, and he gave us a tour of his house...and his ever-too-excited greyhound.  I guess she was more excited to see us!  I have never seen such a skinny dog move so fast...

Van went along with us and took us for a tour of the town, and we hit up the park, the zoo, some track where I raced Jarryd, the world's biggest cemetery (or so it felt), and some state park with a beautiful lake.  We drove up this large hill to the top and overlooked the lake...I could've sworn I was in Oregon or somethin'!  Sure didn't feel like Kansas at all...it was pretty nice!

We drove back, and I spent the night takin' a two-hour nap, then goin' into town with the friends I had met last night...Ashley and Megan.  They came out to the airport and picked me up...then we went into town.  Had a pretty good time...

Ended up goin' to bed at 2:30 A.M.
